About me
Let me introduce myself…
I’m Alli Wonn – and before you ask, it’s German. And confusing. I know.
I am a well-seasoned (mostly salty) accountant, a tiny home enthusiast, a die-hard Tottenham Hotspur fan, an aspirational minimalist, not as well-traveled as I’d like to be, and a huge work in progress.
PERSONALLY
I grew up a tomboy, and never seemed to shake that completely out of my DNA. I prefer sports over sequins, flannels over flowers, and beer to pretty much anything else offered (though I’m learning that this is bad for my glucose levels). I’m a retired soccer-player-turned-cycling-enthusiast, which has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I’ve blown out one of my knees three times. I’ve spent the better part of 2024 in surgery recovery, but used to (and hope to again) enjoy being outside – hiking, backpacking, skiing, cycling, scuba diving, and fly fishing are the usual menu items.
I live a quiet, suburban life (as a renter) with my partner Luke and his (our) dog, Hailey. Our garage currently has seven bikes in it, I’m learning about the health benefits of rendering beef tallow, and I watch Selling Sunset. I have TMJ and PCOS, I’m a CPA, I know CPR (but have a DNR order), and I do a lot of PT – acronyms are fun.
Still wanting more? I interviewed myself – check it out.
PROFESSIONALLY
Up until recently, I was gainfully employed by corporate America (Pfizer, to be specific). I was a mid-level underling in the domestic tax group. Prior to that, I worked in public accounting, assisting clients with their tax compliance needs and taking a marginal amount of pride in being a profit center.
You’ll notice that I said “up until recently” – good catch. I was laid off on 11/1/24, which is actually the best thing that happened to me this year (says a lot about the year I’ve had). I’ve been wanting to take a career sabbatical for awhile, so I’ll take it any way I can. I’m currently dabbling in the world of freelance work (Allison Wonn, PLLC), so reach out if you are in need of tax consulting.
Any positives or negatives in my work product can be attributed to Gonzaga University – they’re the ones who trained me, for better or for worse. Go Zags.
